Case Study
Recruiting Event Staff for the Melbourne Races - Melbourne Racing ClubMelbourne Racing club used bigears to interview 1500 candidates and automatically shortlist them down to 500 candidates, and schedule follow-up group interviews with those 500 candidates.
The Melbourne Racing Club, home of the famous Caulfield Cup, regularly needs to secure the services of entertainment staff for one-off events.
This year, when the Caulfield Cup came around, their 5 event staff were hugely relieved to have BigEars come to the rescue, and do the short-listing for them.
The task : Interview 1500 candidates, and establish who was available for the dates required, what their skills were (bar service certificate etc), and book them for a follow-up interview at the track.
BigEars took the calls, and 500 short-listed candidates duly arrived at the follow-up interviews, to fill 300 positions. What did the candidates think of the automatic interview?
They didn't even notice!
It was simply a natural and painless part of the process.
All candidates who did not meet the short-listing criteria were asked if they would apply for future events, and more than 80% said they probably or definitely would.Good evidence that the automated telephone interview was well received even by those who were not successful.
"BigEars worked in seamlessly with our recruitment process, performing over 75 hours of interviews without tying down a single staff member. I would certainly recommend it to others looking to make recruitment fast and painless."
"It would have taken 4 staff 80 hours, over 2 weeks, to have answered and documented the interview calls over the hours that people called. That would have cost approximately $15k+ to do properly by traditional means."
